Peter's Story
Peter Yabsley is HRJJ's dedicated No-Gi specialist, with a technical game built around leg locks, scrambles, and wrestling-based transitions. His No-Gi sessions are a must for anyone looking to sharpen their submission grappling and build a complete, well-rounded game that works with or without the gi.
Peter's approach to No-Gi instruction reflects the modern evolution of submission grappling — systematic leg lock entries, positional control without grips, and the athletic, scramble-heavy transitions that define elite No-Gi competition. Students who train regularly in Peter's sessions develop a grappling game that is adaptable, dynamic, and genuinely effective.
Beyond technique, Peter brings an analytical mindset to his coaching. He helps students understand the positional logic of No-Gi and how to make smart decisions in real-time — which is particularly valuable in the fast, unpredictable exchanges that characterise submission grappling at a high level.
